Bristol Blue Glass Limited (trading as The Original Bristol Blue Glass) was started back in 1988 by James Adlington, with the help of glass maker Peter St Clair.

The aim was to re-establish a glassmaking tradition in Bristol that had been lost for over 60 years. At this time a lot of the traditional English glassmaking techniques were in severe danger of being lost forever.

We are really proud of what we have achieved over the passing years, making some of the finest free-blown tableware in England for many years.

Ever since the Bristol Blue Glass company was founded we have trained many glassmakers and we are happy that our legacy has spread worldwide.

Although we are called "Bristol Blue Glass" we are able to blow everything in clear crystal and multiple colours as well. If you would like anything that does not appear on this site then please don't hesitate to contact us.

Our skilled glassmakers are able to blow all our glass using the simplest of techniques and with basic hand tools.

All our range of glass is free-blown, therefore, every piece is unique. We see ourselves as a welcome change from bland uniformity, an oasis of skill and design.
